Hostile vehicle mitigation bollards
The highest level of protection for people and assets
Protect high-value assets with HVM bollards
Hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) bollards offer the highest level of protection for sensitive and high-value locations. They are ideal for places where there is a risk of vehicles losing control or vehicle-based attacks.
In 2019, Roadside developed its own HVM bollard – the Australian-made RAM48. We also supply and install a range of Pilomat HVM bollards. Our bollards are all independently tested and certified to BSI PAS 68 standard. They can stop vehicles travelling up to 100 km/h and weighing up to 7,500 kilograms.

Rundle Mall
Overview
Adelaide City Council needed to create a physical barrier at both ends of the Rundle Mall pedestrian shopping precinct. The solution needed to provide safety for pedestrian, traders and motorists while also enabling authorised vehicle access. The delivery and installation also had to be achieved in a strict time frame.
Solution
Our retractable EABs provided the perfect solution for Rundle Mall. We installed 20 static Energy Absorbing Bollards and six retractable automatic bollards. We were able to design, develop and install the full solution in a short period of time, meeting all of the council’s requirements.
