With a distinguished medical career spanning over four decades, Douglas Travis has transitioned from his role as a leading urologist to becoming an accomplished board director, leveraging his extensive expertise in healthcare, governance, and corporate leadership across diverse industries.

Education and Qualifications:

• M.B.B.S – University of Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School (1980)

• Fellow – Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology) (1990)

• Graduate – Australian Institute of Company Directors (2014)

Professional Achievements in Medicine:

Dr Travis served as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) Urologist at Western Health from 1992, where he played a pivotal role in expanding and improving urology services, making it a leader in the field across Victoria.

As the inaugural Chair of Better Care Victoria, he oversaw the development and successful launch of healthcare change initiatives and collaboratives aimed at enhancing the delivery of healthcare to Victorians.

Throughout his career, Dr Travis demonstrated a commitment to mentoring young medical professionals, advocating for systemic improvements, and providing a strong voice in discussions with governments and decision-makers to improve Victoria’s healthcare landscape.

Dr Travis has honed his governance and financial acumen through board roles in prominent medical and financial organizations:
