RSS upgrades car park ahead of Shanx mini golf opening

Roadside Services & Solutions (RSS) is working on major upgrade works at the South Lakes Golf Club car park, delivering essential improvements to cater for the region’s growth and the exciting arrival of Shanx mini golf – the largest mini golf course in the southern hemisphere.

The project, which began on Sunday, sees RSS crews working 12-hour days to fast-track the upgrade and ensure it is complete before summer.

Roadside Services and Solutions CEO Craig Woods says the enhanced car park will provide extra parking spaces, improved traffic flow, new signage, fencing, and line marking, creating a safer and more accessible facility for families and visitors.

The upgrade comes as part of the South Lakes Golf Club’s significant investment in Shanx mini golf, a world-class attraction designed for all ages. With the venue expected to draw large crowds from across the region and beyond, the new car park will play a vital role in supporting the additional traffic and ensuring a smooth visitor experience.

“The first stage of works, completed on Wednesday 20 August, involved the removal of redundant materials and replacement with new roadbase to create a level, reliable parking surface. From here, the project will move into the installation of signage, fencing, and final car park delineation to maximise usability,” Craig Woods says.

The full upgrade is scheduled for completion by the end of next month, well ahead of Shanx mini golf’s highly anticipated opening later in the year.
